FAQ’s

Why have a Fan Page and not a Personal Profile or Group?

You could be jeopardising your company's effectiveness on Facebook, if you're account isn't set up properly

Facebook says…

Here's what  Facebook has to say in their terms of service, "Profiles represent individuals and must be held under an individual name, while Pages allow an organization, business, celebrity, or band to maintain a professional presence on Facebook."   If  you've set up a profile this way then you will lose all your friends list if Facebook closes you down.

Analytics

With Fanpages you can view all kinds of useful data about who visits your page, including how many likes and comments you receive, demographic break downs and much much more. Personal profiles do not offer the means of adding a "LIKE" box on your website unlike a Fanpage.

Unlimited Fans/Likes

Fanpages can have unlimited Fans.  Personal profiles are limited to 5,000 friends. Once you reach the 5,000 friends Facebook will encourage you to set up a personal fanpage but it doesn't offer any sort of tool to convert your friends to fans on your new fanpage.  I'm afraid you'd have to do that all yourself.

This would mean asking all your "friends" politely to "LIKE" your new Fanpage and explain clearly why you're asking them to join.

Search Visibility

Another advantage of a fanpage is that they are searchable by Google and other search engines.

I have a website why do I have to have a Business Fan Page?

Some businesses underestimate the power of Facebook.

Firstly you can target local people to "like" your page which then means you have an audience you can interact with.

Every day or every week you can let your "fans" know what you're doing, what offers you have, you can even set up an online shop on you fanpage.

As of 2011, there are 500,000,000 active facebook users.  i.e. approx 1 in every 13 peole on earth. Half of them are logged in on any given day.
